How was your Gamex 2008?

So how was it for you?

Mine was rocking despite the few missing faces and the lack of their games, and the new RPG room layout. Which wasn't too bad for the noise, but was bad for the funk.

Delta Green classic Cthulhu was solid though we did get a little sidetracked with the little monster in the beginning rather than going after the big elder god being milked in a basement like we were supposed to.

The obligatory post Nerdly Beach Party II thread

So now that our sunburns have set in, do that discussing thing.

How was your OrcCon?

So how did the con go for everybody? Share the high and low points. Did any new and exciting things happened for you?

Post Thanksgiving Gathering

2007-11-23 23:00

This was an offshoot of from the minicon thread. Since there isn't time to organize a full fledged minicon, we are just going to have a small get together and play some games.

What:
Go Play L.A. #0. We will meet the day after Thanksgiving to play some story games and hang out. We'll play two games running about four hours in length, the first one starting at 11:00 AM and the second at 5:00PM. That will allow plenty of time for food and maybe some quick board games.

Where:
Game Empire
2302 E. Colorado Blvd.
Pasadena, CA (just off I210)

When:
November 23 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM

We could organize our own minicon: Revisited

This post branches off the thread We could organize our own minicon. I'm still up for this. I'm thinking sometime in November to fill the void left by the demise of GenCon SoCal.

I'm thinking the Friday after Thanksgiving, which also happens to be Buy Nothing Day. I'm not trying to make a political statement, I just thought what better way to spend a day buying nothing than gaming!

Is anyone else the least bit curious about this Jeepform thing?

I've followed from great afar this role playing movement called "Jeepform" from Scandinavia. The 10 second summary is like this: very focused, short, effecting live action role playing, except nothing like the LARPs we know. Small games, (like 12 players absolute tops, usually more like 4-8), usually with 2 GMs, systems so light it's easy to miss them. Very much a focus on telling a story over and above playing a character.

For lotsa more details, check out jeepen.org.

How was your Gateway!

What did you play?
How were the games?
What will you take away from it?
Did you have any faux pas moments?

2007-07-21 22:00

Okay, I'm fiating that we'll be barbequeing at Ken Hahn Recreation Area, which is just near the 10 and 405 freeways and should therefore be pretty easy for everybody to get to. There's a $4 per vehicle parking fee to get in, so make sure you have some singles.

We are going to see Transformers on July 7that The Bridge and then go out for some Johnny Rockets afterwards.

We are going to the 4:45 showing. It is highly, highly, profoundly recommended that you reserve tickets ahead of time. The show will almost certainly sell out and tickets will not be available at the box office.
